A company history
Strong in tradition - flexible in principle
1934 Wilhelm Müller - the Grandfather of the current Managing Directors - founded the company in Mönchengladbach-Rheydt-Mülfort. In two production plants on Bruchstrasse and Joeresallee with a total area of 900 m², wire fences were manufactured and a metalworking shop operated.
1940 The product range was expanded to include concrete products. 1958 The release of the first playground product - a concrete sandpit with a built in games table. The company's first brochure says, among other things: An ornament for any site - functional and attractive. Well-known garden architects were involved in the design of this sandpit and it paved the way for the current, well-known, extensive range of concrete products.
Fritz Müller, the son of Wilhelm Müller who was to later give his name to Fritz Müller GmbH worked for the company after the end of the war. He worked in both the commercial and technical departments and acquired the knowledge he would later need to run the company.
1967 The first table-tennis table was manufactured. At this time no one suspected that this product would become a best seller. Even today it is still in demand both at home and abroad - standing for the quality and durability of all Müller products.
1970 Metal fence production was abandoned. The main focus changed to the manufacture of concrete products for the leisure industry. In the same year the company's head office moved to Mönchengladbach-Odenkirchen, Am Schomm 5. The company still has its headquarters at the same address.
1977 Foundation of Fritz Müller GmbH. Fritz's father Wilhelm retired and Fritz Müller managed the company with a great deal of far-sightedness, achieving the success and reputation, that is still closely associated with its products.
1980 Fritz's sons Bernd and Wolfgang joined the company and were taken in hand by their father. At some time they would have to manage the company in the same manner.

The level of success soon meant that the plant was working at full capacity and the lack of space at Odenkirchen did not allow for any expansion of the production area. The company had also decided to pursue a policy of entering the rapidly opening East European markets. In 1993 the father and his sons jointly founded Müller Jelcz Laskowice Sp.zo.o. in Poland. Within two years they had built an extremely modern factory with extensive external areas and separate manufacturing halls for steel and concrete products. The course for a successful future was set.
On April 1st 1993 the sons took over management of the company and followed in their father's footsteps. Sadly he was only able to look over his successors' shoulders for a short while - he died just two years later.

Now his sons' abilities were tested. As the directors of Fritz Müller GmbH and joint managing directors of the Polish factory, the terms responsibility and field of activity took on greater meaning. It has long been proved that they both grew into their roles.
From metal fences and sandpits to a modern, multi-level, extensive range of products for games, sports and the leisure industry.
"Strong in tradition - flexible in principle" is not just the title of this company history - it reflects in the best possible way the development of Fritz Müller GmbH.
